I have always loved being in a kitchen since I was a child. I used to watch my father chop vegetables for our family dinners. I have also always had a passion for food and how it affects health. After reading every diet book I could find I pursued an RN degree and worked in the ER for 7 years to learn every aspect of medicine. I also went on to nutritional counseling school. I discovered that many of my patients and clients did not know how to eat a healthy diet. I then discovered a book, “The Plan“ by Lyn-Genet Recitas and it was a wonderful base to my holistic food practice. . Food is the best medicine if you eat the foods that are non reactive to you. I have taken several chef series and have found beautiful combination of how I like to practice as a holistic coach. I offer in home cooking , special event dinners, healthy muffin baskets for new mothers and office meetings. I also am a health coach and take clients for 20-60 Day weight loss programs . I can cook for every health need: gluten-free, SIBO, IBS, Vegan , Vegetarian , comfort food, whatever you need.

Background

I am an RN who worked in conventional medicine for 7 years . I am a certified nutritionist with “The Metabolism Plan“ as well as a certified Sports Nutritionist.

I am currently finishing up my Nutritional Consultant degree at Hawthorn University. I study at the Goumandise School of Sweets and Savories taking different courses to keep my menus fresh and new . I have cooked for clients and families for over 10 years . I work with professional athletes, new mothers, families and clients with special health needs.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Donna Huggins for over 3 years now. She is a health coach and chef for my company The Metabolism Plan. I have trained employees for over 20 years and rarely have I met someone who offers so much support, wisdom, kindness to their work. Her desire to go the extra mile with such grace is a rare trait.

Donna has an extensive background in food service, food preparation, special diet needs, as well as health and exercise coaching. Donna worked for years in the restaurant business and is very skilled with handling prestigious guests and clients.

Donna’s thirst for knowledge and continuing nutrition and cooking courses is limitless and just part of who she is. She is completing a degree in nutritional counseling at Hawthorn University and is also an RN.

Donna has been a personal chef for exclusive clients for the past 3 years and her retention rate is phenomenal. Her cooking has changed the lives of so many and her true joy in cooking and teaching is evident.

As a health coach she has helped many clients of the Metabolism Plan reach their health and weight goals. She is always willing to take on new responsibilities and is a team player. I am thrilled to have her as part of my staff and I trust that she will be an asset to your household as a healthy personal chef. She has a very positive demeanor and a constant sense of adventure. She has traveled the world and it shows in her cuisine and menu composition."

What's most impressive about Donna, besides her second to none cooking

skills, is her knowledge of food, and her work ethic and energy. She

brings the same attitude and dedication to any event - whether it's

for a small party, or a large event or cocktail party.

This past year, for example, she catered (on her own) a fund raiser

dinner/cocktail party for my son's school - for 20 people. This

included the drinks, appetizers and a large variety of "main plate"

samplers. She did this in six hours (including shopping for the

food!). Many guests remarked that this was one of the best "cocktail

dinners" they had ever attended.

For the past two years, Donna has spent a week with us at our vacation

home in Southampton NY. She cooked and prepared all the meals, and

shopped for all ingredients (including fresh fish, vegetables and

organic, grass fed meats at the local farm stands). Besides being

delicious, she knows how to combine perfectly cooked foods that are

healthy and balanced."
